Chief Financial Officer Manager (CFO)

This position reports to the Managing Director for the Market Company Volvo Trucks & Buses Argentina and is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Argentina is the second largest truck market within Latin America. From a truck market perspective, Argentina has the right product offer to attend the new market demands. Volvo Argentina reached the first position in market share for heavy duty trucks in 2019 (“F” Line) and has a service network of 22 workshops around the country. Volvo Argentina is also an important player in the Bus Market. Volvo Argentina is always focused on customer satisfaction, market share increase, reduce operational cost to end customer and support the growing running fleet in the country.
Mission/ Purpose of the job
The CFO is the primary responsible for managing the company’s finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, and financial reporting. The CFO will be part of the company leadership, analyzing data and solutions, helping make crucial financial decisions and leading the execution. Lead the finance area, that is responsible to bring a significant contribution to the performance of Volvo Trucks and Buses Argentina.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities

  • Lead, direct, and control the organization’s financial resources to maintain its short and long-term financial health;

  • Direct all financial functions to ensure they meet the organization’s business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations and accounting principles;

  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the top executive level to develop and implement a financial strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives;

  • Direct the preparation of the organization’s financial reports, such as profit and loss accounts, balance sheet, management financial reports, and regulatory reports and filings;

  • Evaluate acquisitions, investments, capital expenditure, divestitures, mergers, or the sale of assets to ensure they are financially viable;

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with banks, investment analysts, and other financial institutions;

  • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of senior managers to ensure the organization's financial strategy is implemented effectively, consistently and according to established guidelines;

  • Coordinating the Process & IT roadmap for the country, including demand mapping, prioritization and implementation follow up;

  • Ensure compliance to local legislation and Volvo Group policies;

  • Attract, retain and develop key talents and promote team work;

  • Secure expected financial results throughout the business cycle

  • Sponsor integration with the Business Areas and Group Functions;

  • Represent the Legal Entity (statutory responsibilities);

  • Engaging the global organization on concerned areas and as well as being an active member of the Volvo Trucks & Buses Argentina Executive Management Team (VTBA EMT);

  • Some domestic and international travel as required.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or equivalent business experience;

  • 8+ years of solid proven work experience in a similar position in multinational companies, preferably automotive and commercial segment in Argentina.

  • Working experience in the international environment and strong understanding of the Trucks and Buses businesses;

  • Proven leadership skills demonstrated by successful managerial experience;

  • A wide range of financial, accounting and taxes knowledge;

  • Required fluency, both written and verbal, in English and Spanish. Additional fluency in Portuguese is a differentiator.
