Manufacturing Engineer

We are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer-Machining to join our amazing team in Lexington, Tennessee.
What is the Job?
In this role, you will be responsible analyzing and evaluating manufacturing methods, labor content, work standards, tooling, equipment and machinery utilized in order to recommend and implement process changes needed to support efficient production activities. Some of your core responsibilities will include:
  • Evaluating production requirements and developing lean manufacturing methods and systems to meet those obligations.
  • Generation and verification of computer numerical control machining programs in EIA, Mazatrol, and using CAM software.
  • Initiating start-up of new manufacturing processes in the Lexington facility from concept to start of production.
  • Evaluating and implementing changes in workplace layouts, methods, fixtures and tools to reduce time, eliminate hazards, improve workflow, implement design changes and/or provide cost reduction.
  • Assisting in preparing justification for purchase of tooling and equipment.
  • Assisting in planning, preparing of routings and acquisition of tooling and equipment for new products or models.
  • Designing and implementing quality assurance systems and procedures for production gaging, tool wear, machine capability and statistical analysis.
  • Preparing and maintaining job work instructions, tool specification and assist in operator training.
  • Providing and maintaining department/plant lay-outs in AutoCAD.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent project and process management skills, as well as a basic understanding of all modern production processes and materials. In addition, excellent communication and presentation skills are necessary as is the need for fluency in speaking and writing English in order to communicate successfully with internal and external stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
We are looking for someone that has both exceptional knowledge and experience with multiple CNC lathe, as well as vertical and horizontal machining centers. It also helps if you have a working knowledge of tooling fixtures and mathematical equations.
This position requires a higher level of education so we’re looking to bring aboard someone who has a 4-year degree in engineering or related field. We also require 1-3 years of experience in CNC programming experience, and as a MUST you need to be proficient in reading drawings, GD&T and layout procedures.
