Product & Project Management (PPM) is a function in the Global Product Development organisation responsible to bring a significant contribution to the performance of Volvo Bus Corporation by being responsible for product planning, the project portfolio, the product cradle-to-grave, the range architecture as well as process & IT and certification of our products and vehicles. Our team consists of 120 employees and our main sites are located in Sweden, Poland, China, India, Mexico and Brazil.

The Homologation department within PPM (Product & Project Management) provide high-class competences in homologation and certification.
We control and co-ordinate the global homologation activities within Volvo Bus Corporation and monitor the vehicle regulations. The department consists of eight highly motivated co-workers with high focus on teamwork. To meet the increased demands, especially in the safety and environmental area, both within EU and on the fast increased globalisation, it is really challenging for the future business.
Department CD75600, Homologation, is now looking for two Certification Engineers
Tasks and Responsibilities:
You will work at the Homologation department in Gothenburg, which carries out necessary EC/ECE certification of components, systems and complete vehicles.
You will be responsible as expert in certain regulation areas, and represent homologation in concerned projects. Do planning and preparation for certification tests with European authorities and test institutes. Compile technical information and documents to produce certificates for Volvo Bus Corporations complete product range.
Within your expert area, you are responsible for:
- Global vehicle regulation expertise for legislation and certificates EC/ECE
- Monitoring of new legal requirements in regulations for buses EC/ECE
- Networking, lobby activities and relations to authorities, associations and competitors
- Globally establish homologation plans and coordinate homologation activities to produce international certificates
- Market support regarding EC/ECE certificates
- Appointed contact towards international authorities
Profile & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
- Be able to take responsibility and independently lead the tasks in your area
- Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Self-motivating and proactive abilities
- Analytical skills
- Enjoy working in a multi-cultural organisation
- Be a real team player
Other preferred qualifications:
- University degree, Engineering, Law or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience from homologation work, a plus
- Good technical experience from the vehicle industry, a plus
