The Electromobility organization is responsible for the complete development lifecycle from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase. We drive the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. This organization develops and drives the electromobility component/product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group.

We are now looking for Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Motor Drive System Control and Software team. In this position the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven capability and experience in design and development roles. The main responsibilities will be to:

- Design, develop and maintain low level embedded software for our Electric Drive Control System. Including, but not limited to:
- Code implementation in C
- Break down and write requirements
- Design documentation
- Writing unit and integration tests
- Planning and time estimation of work packages
- Support technical Embedded Software Investigations
- Work in different roles in a cross functional scrum team
- Plan and Participate in verification and testing activities
- Stays abreast with new technology
We are looking for someone who thrives on finding solutions to highly complex challenges, never afraid to try out new ideas in search of innovation and takes ownership in delivering outstanding products. You qualify if you have:
- Master degree or similar in Embedded Software Development with at least 3 years of documented experience
- Strong knowledge of low level embedded software development in C
- Experience in version control tools like Git
- Good knowledge of electronics
- Skills in both teamwork and individual work. Autonomy, drive and ability to work in a team are key abilities
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
- Ability to manage & support multiple activities (time management skills)
It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following:
Automotive, CPU Infineon Aurix, Electromobility (motor drive systems), Requirement management, SW configuration, Volvo systems, Agile principles and methods, Matlab/Simulink/TargetLink.
