Indirect Purchasing and Services (IPS) is a global organization within GTP representing a yearly purchased spend of 43 BSEK. The team is responsible for Investments, IT, Professional Service & Travel, Product & Operation Services.

As Vice President Market Companies, you will be responsible to manage and drive purchasing related activities on Indirect Purchasing in the market companies and retail network of Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks own dealers in Europe. We expect full accountability in the “high service level” countries (e.g. UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Poland, Belgium). In the UK, Germany and Poland you will have the big opportunity to manage and drive purchasing activities covering the Truck Superstructures (TST) and other specific market company purchases as per business interest.
With all market companies and retail organizations in Europe, high and low service level, you will develop ways of working and strong communication channels in order to drive implementation of the appropriate PU processes and sharing of activities with GTP. From a QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) standpoint you will manage purchasing deliverables and lead the operational activities connected to deliveries to local truck/bus/construction equipment plants (UK, Germany and Poland).
You will be responsible for the budget, operating expenses and give input to the department purchasing business plan. You will secure cost targets and KPIs fulfillment and when needed you will sign off Purchasing Agreements in accordance with authorization directives.
You will represent GTP in the relevant country management forums or/and Market Companies Management Teams. As Vice President Market Companies you will be a member in IPS Management team and actively contribute to the development of the department. You will report to the Senior Vice President IPS Purchasing.
Other main activities:
  • Manage the overall suppliers’ relationship and their involvement in project activities
  • Drive and implement the segment strategies and manage suppliers’ selection/relationship/partnership and negotiation
  • Manage cross-functional interactions with stakeholders (GTT, GTO, VTC, RT, VBC, Penta, VGRE, etc.), appoint supplier hosts within your area and ensure that the Sourcing Cases (with all the available data) are ready for Sourcing Committee and/or Sourcing Board
  • Ensure collaboration with the other managers within the respective segment(s)

You are not afraid of facing problems and to give direct and actionable feedback. You communicate challenges and influence a variety of stakeholders effectively. You feel comfortable with being the person who hold things together during tough situations and strive to make the best of it.
Main qualifications:
  • University degree in Engineering/technology and/or Business Administration
  • Recognized business acumen
  • A strong understanding of business challenges in a global environment and preferably a good understanding of the Volvo Group Business
  • Experience in Purchasing and in Sales
  • Knowledge in current and future business trends, technology and markets
