Material Controller, Service Market Logistics

Volvo Group Australia is currently seeking proactive and self-motivated Material Controllers to join our Group Trucks Operations (GTO) Service Market Logistics team. The primary focus of this role is to provide high levels of parts availability and customer service, that meet the needs of the Volvo Group Australia Dealer Network.

About the role:
  • Maintain supplier contacts database ensuring details are up to date and accurate
  • Administer the parts inventory to ensure availability to meet our customers expectations
  • Investigate importer and local stock discrepancies
  • Expedite orders to meet customer requirements
  • Manage inventory of parts to minimise risk of obsolescence
  • Liaise with the Quality and Purchasing teams with regard to product quality issues and returns
  • Give regular, accurate and timely feedback to relevant stakeholders on delivery issues through escalation process
  • Be flexible and focus on customer needs and treat these needs with a sense of urgency
  • Provide system parameters and processes continuous improvement suggestions using Volvo Production System (VPS) concept

About you:
  • Inventory and material management skills
  • Knowledge of material control including MRP and JIT systems
  • Previous experience in the automotive or parts industry
  • Flexible and customer service focussed
  • Strong computer skills, in particular with databases and Microsoft Office
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Sound analytical and evaluation skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with a professional telephone manner
  • Qualifications in Inventory Management and/or Logistics highly desirable
